Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainability
We take responsibility!
As a family business, it is a matter of course for us to act sustainably and to take responsibility for our customers and employees, for society and the environment. We are committed to this in many different ways.
We focus on four areas of corporate social responsibility (CSR): society, environment, employees and economy.
We bear responsibility for society and support social projects, culture and science – also thanks to the personal commitment of our employees. Supporting the work of many local associations and institutions around our sites is very important to us. When selecting projects, the focus is generally on projects that will benefit children and young people in the long term. Environmental protection and the preservation of historical monuments are further areas in which we are committed to the community.
Responsible environmental management is an important aspect in the selection of our activities. All companies of the Kloska Group are certified according to DIN EN ISO 14001. The ISO 14001 puts emphasis on a continuous improvement process as a means to achieve the respective defined objective regarding the environmental performance of an organization. This includes the avoidance and reduction of waste, the reuse of packaging materials as well as an optimization of transports and capacity utilization.
We are a member of the initiative “Stadtbremische Häfen”. The Kloska Group is committed to the future of the location in the Bremen port area on the right side of the Weser. We are one of more than 50 companies that operate from there regionally to worldwide. From neighbourhood grows proximity and leads to joint utilization concepts for the handling and cost-effective transport of goods.
With regard to supply chain management and the selection of suppliers, it goes without saying that our suppliers comply with all ethical principles. Whether these are the observance of human rights, labor standards or environmental protection – these principles must be observed throughout the entire supply chain. In today’s globalized economy, there is a multitude of suppliers. Rarely do we have to deal with so-called “black sheep” in this large selection. Nevertheless, there are suppliers who put their own sales before everything else and do not pay attention to human rights and labor standards. We categorically exclude such suppliers. This is one of our most important principles.
In our Code of Conduct we have described the principles of sustainable behavior in a binding manner.
