Das Kloska Team Rostock unterstützt beim Festmachen des Öltanker “Annika” am Überseehafen Rostock

Kloska Group supports the salvage of the Oil Tanker "Annika" by delivering the specially required mooring ropes

Last Friday, the oil tanker “Annika” caught fire in the Baltic Sea, prompting a large-scale emergency response involving firefighting and salvage crews. Under the direction of the maritime rescue services, three firefighting vessels and approximately 120 emergency personnel worked tirelessly for several hours to combat the blaze on the vessel, which was carrying 640 tons of heavy oil. In the evening, following a risk assessment, the command decided to continue firefighting efforts from shore and to tow the tanker to the Port of Rostock with combined forces.

Around 8 p.m., our Kloska Rostock team received an order to deliver six 110-meter mooring lines to the berth, in anticipation of the vessel´s arrival. Without delay, Kai Waldhauer – General Manager of Kloska Rostock, mobilized three additional colleagues to prepare and splice the mooring ropes at its own work shop according to the required ship’s specifications. The team successfully completed the delivery around midnight. By 1 a.m., the tanker was safely moored with the combined efforts of everyone involved. We would like to express our special Thank You to everyone involved for their excellent collaboration.
